You know, I've only seen that woman on Facebook.

But to be fair, I do know some very successful home-based travel advisors. In fact, all of our remote consultants work entirely from home. But there is a difference between being home-based and center-based.

And don't mistake center-based for office-bound.

Our remote consultants still participate in Team meetings, training, Travel Showcases, supplier events, marketing programs, coaching conversations, and many of the same opportunities available to advisors who spend more time in the Center.

The difference isn't where they work. The difference is they're still connected to the Team and the business platform that supports them.

You absolutely can work from home, and chances are you probably will from time to time. You're just not stuck there.

But the marketplace is bigger than a living room. And, while social media has a broad reach, it doesn't reach everyone. A travel agency isn't just an office. It's a business platform.

The strongest travel businesses are built on relationships, referrals, repeat customers, community involvement, and reputation. Being center-based helps you build those things from a visible, professional location in the community.

That's why being center-based matters. Here, you can accept walk-in customers, call-in inquiries, and web leads. You can meet customers in a professional setting. You have your Team behind you.

Even consultants who work mostly from home leverage our Travel Showcases, supplier events, community activities, and marketing programs that help build visibility, credibility, and trust.

And then there's the part that's hard to put on a spreadsheet.

The friendships. The encouragement. The shared experiences. The culture that comes from building a business alongside other people instead of trying to do it all by yourself.

Maybe the sofa is a good place to relax for an hour with a cup of coffee while you review, edit, or approve the posts Corporate has already created for you in Social Hub, or create and schedule your own content for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for the next few weeks.

So yes, keep the sofa. . .Keep the pajamas if you want. Just don't limit your business to the four walls of your living room.
